Whoever replaces Jim Caldwell as Ravens offensive coordinator will need to have a strong working relationship with quarterback Joe Flacco. This million dollar quarterback will be the centerpiece of whatever the Ravens do offensively for the future.
The Ravens has had their share of offensive coordinators. This new coach will be the third one in less than two years. However, Flacco is not going anywhere, especially since he signed a six-year 120.6 million contract last offseason.
So there must be “chemistry” between Flacco and the new coordinator. If the Ravens offense struggles again next season, the new coordinator might not be around long.
Flacco had ups and downs working with Caldwell, winning a Super Bowl last February, but suffering through a disappointing 2013 season that included a career-high 22 interceptions. The Ravens ranked 29th in total offense last season.
Hopefully, the relationship between offensive coordinator and quarterback will develop into a winning season
