Coming up on Week 16 the Ravens play the New England Patriots at M&T stadium on Sunday at 4:25pm. Originally, it was to be played at 8:40pm but it was flexed out by the NFL. The Patriots and Ravens can be considered a compelling rivalry. Not the all out drag down rivalry as the Pittsburgh Steelers, but respected rivals nonetheless. This will be the seventh time the teams met since 2009.
The Ravens have won four straight games. Flacco is hot. Tucker is smoking. Now, the offensive line needs to keep up the pace. Jim Caldwell, take care of business. Better run game and protection for Flacco.
Ray Rice is dealing with a hip injury. He did not admit he was badly hurt at first and continued to play. “This has been a different year for me,” Rice said. “Everybody plays through different things, and my numbers are what they are, but I’m doing what I can do to help my team.”
If the Ravens win against the Cincinnati Bengals in week 17, they would win the division for the third straight season.
The Ravens have made the playoffs every season since 2008. That is when Head Coach John Harbaugh and rookie quarterback Joe Flacco arrived. The Ravens have the league’s longest current streak of consecutive playoff appearances.
Ravens defensive coordinator Dean Pees should know the Patriots well. He was the defensive coordinator for New England from 2006-09. He will be putting pressure on Tom Brady whenever possible and not give him any easy throws. Outside linebackers Elvis Dumervil and Terrell Suggs are going to be tough to deal with. With an arm like Tom Brady, sacking Suggs needs to crush him. His quick release of the ball makes sacking difficult
The Ravens have a good record at home. Let’s hope they continue their streak.
