Justin Tucker was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week on Wednesday after kicking six field goals in Monday’s win over the Detroit Lions. This makes his 33rd successful field goal in a row.
Tucker kicked field goals of from the 24, 29, 32, 49, 53 and 61 yard line, making him the first player in NFL history to ever hit kick field goals from the 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 yard line in the same game. He kicked a 61 yard field goal in the fourth quarter that was the longest kick in a dome in NFL history.
It was crunch time. In the fourth quarter with seconds to play, Tucker went up to Head Coach John Harbaugh and asked for a shot to win the game.
“He kind of ordered me almost to kick it, you know?” Harbaugh said.
Tucker is a phenomenal kicker. When he kicks, it is so graceful. When he swings that leg back and brings it forward, you can hear music!
